                                                                     Barbados Introduction (Hook) Body Image is the perception that a person has of their physical self and the thoughts and feelings that result from that perception. (Bridge) The formation of a body image can be derived from a person's cultural upbringing and geographical region. In regions such as the Caribbean, the climate tends to be warmer, therefore clothing is more open, and more skin is shown. Women of all shapes and sizes must dress a certain way to remain cool. (Thesis)   When I think of Barbados, and the women influencers from this island, many of them have an hourglass shape. There must be a certain body image that women aim to have.

                                                         Women's Body Image in Barbados                         My research paper is about how women in Barbados see themselves, and how                             they aspire to look physically. There aren't many issues in Barbados, so a challenge                               of writing this paper was finding credible sources on Barbados. Rihanna is an influencer                     who was born and raised in Barbados and has gone through racial and physical                                     discrimination. I will also be discussing how body image is perceived and advertised.                           Along with how/ whether or not women and young girls are affected by the islands status                     quo. Many women from Barbados seem to have an hourglass figure, so women must aspire                 to have that type of body shape.
